John Marcus is CEO of Oxzo, a company focused on the development of advanced oxygenation and aeration technologies for the aquaculture industry. With more than 25 years of experience in engineering and aquaculture, he has built a career centered on integrating technological solutions that enhance production efficiency and environmental performance in aquaculture systems. Since 2011, he has led Oxzo’s international expansion, promoting the development and deployment of patented innovations originally developed in Chile and now implemented in aquaculture operations across several markets, including Chile, Norway, and Canada. His work focuses on aligning technical and strategic teams around goals related to productivity, animal welfare, and operational efficiency, promoting technologies capable of delivering measurable results in aquaculture production, such as increased biomass yields, reduced mortality, and optimized production cycles.

He holds a Ph.D. in Genetics and Animal Breeding from São Paulo State University (UNESP), with a focus on applied genomics in selection programs. He has extensive experience leading and optimizing genomic selection strategies to enhance productivity, product quality, and sustainability in aquaculture.
Public Accountant from Universidad Andrés Bello and holds a Master’s degree in Science and Innovation Management from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. He currently serves as Regional Deputy Director of CORFO Los Lagos, where he supports initiatives related to innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional economic development. He has more than two decades of experience in public administration and productive development, having held positions in SENCE, the Regional Government of Los Lagos, Chilean Customs, and Fundación Chinquihue.
