Aquaculture Engineer and PhD in Biology, Full Professor at Universidad Andrés Bello, with a recognized track record in applied research in aquaculture health. He has led the Laboratory of Aquatic Organism Pathology and Aquaculture Biotechnology for more than a decade and is a Principal Investigator at the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR). His work focuses on aquatic animal diseases, bacterial pathology, responsible use of antimicrobials, and the development of biotechnological tools and vaccines, and he is an international reference in bacterial diseases of fish. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the INCAR² Applied Research Center, where he leads the fish diseases and antimicrobial resistance research line.

He holds a degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MSc in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management from the University of Stirling, Scotland.
