Claudio has broad experience across the technical, operational, and commercial dimensions of aquaculture. He began his career as a field veterinarian, working in fish health, production operations, and processing plants, which allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of the salmon production cycle. Today, he has more than 25 years of experience in the Chilean salmon farming industry. He later joined Roche, a company that subsequently became DSM Nutritional Products, where he held several technical and management roles before becoming Technical Manager. In this position, he led initiatives related to salmon nutrition and pigmentation, product development, and commercial management, while also participating in the company’s global marketing team. He later served as Commercial Manager at Hendrix Genetics, strengthening his strategic profile in aquaculture genetics and production. For the past four years, he has been part of the Dutch company Corbion, where he serves as Sales Manager for the Aqua market, with responsibility for the development, innovation, and commercialization of aquaculture solutions across Latin America. In the academic and scientific field, he is the author of several publications on salmon nutrition and pigmentation and has participated as a speaker at numerous scientific and technical meetings in the aquaculture sector in Chile and other countries in the region, including Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil.

Dr. Tomás Pérez-Acle, PhD, is a computational biologist whose research focuses on the development of computational models to study complex biological phenomena through interdisciplinary approaches integrating biology, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. He has published nearly 70 Q1-indexed scientific articles, book chapters, and patent applications in areas such as computer-aided drug design, nanotechnology, and robotics. He currently serves as Full Professor and Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Studies at Universidad San Sebastián.
He holds a degree in Microbiology from the University of Oslo (1989) and has built an extensive international career in aquatic animal health and aquaculture policy. He began his professional career as a scientist at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, focusing on fish health and disease prevention in aquaculture. He later served in several roles within the Norwegian Ministry of Agriculture, including Head of the Animal Health Unit. He subsequently joined the European Commission (DG Health and Consumer Affairs), where he was responsible for developing the EU legislation on aquatic animal health. From 2017 to 2019 he chaired the FAO COFI Sub-Committee on Aquaculture and, since 2020, he serves as Director General and Head of the Department of Aquaculture at the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.
Ignacio Fernández Ruiz is the Director General of ProChile, with over 25 years of experience in the public sector and international economic relations. He holds a Law degree from the University of Chile and a Master’s in International Economic Policy from the University of Sheffield. He has held several positions within the Undersecretariat for International Economic Relations and ProChile, both in Chile and abroad.
