Paulo Palacios Achui is a Veterinarian with a solid and extensive professional background in fish health and nutrition, with a strong focus on the Chilean salmon farming industry. Throughout his career, he has held technical and leadership roles in various aquaculture companies, actively contributing to the creation, structuring, and management of health, research, and development departments. His expertise includes the design and implementation of integrated health strategies, with particular emphasis on vaccine development and evaluation, fish pigmentation, and nutritional management, aligning sanitary, productive, and quality-driven criteria. He currently serves as Technical Manager at Salmones Antártica S.A., where he is responsible for overseeing strategic areas such as fish health, quality control and assurance, and environmental management, contributing to the strengthening of technical and operational standards across the company. In addition, Paulo Palacios has participated as a speaker at international seminars and technical forums, and has led internal training processes, supporting knowledge transfer and the continuous development of technical capabilities within the salmon farming industry.

Dr. Alex Romero is a Biochemist and PhD in Science with a specialization in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Universidad Austral de Chile. He currently leads the Laboratory of Immunology and Stress in Aquatic Organisms at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and is an Associate Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR²). His research focuses on fish defense mechanisms against stress and pathogen infections, as well as the development of natural additives to improve fish health and resilience.
