The initiative is part of an awareness campaign that promotes the use of free shuttle transportation, carpooling, and organization among work teams, in anticipation of the expected increase in visitors to the fair.

Coordinated with public and private actors in the region, the Aquasur 2026 Mobility Plan was designed to anticipate projected growth in attendance and establish itself as a milestone in the experience of those participating in the event.

The thirteenth edition of Aquasur, the largest aquaculture fair in the southern hemisphere, will be held on March 24, 25, and 26, 2026. The event also includes an international congress focused on innovation and industry development and will take place in the Los Lagos Region.

Organized by FISA, part of the GL events group, Aquasur has positioned itself as the main meeting point for the aquaculture sector and its various stakeholders. For its 2026 edition, the organization anticipates an increase in attendance, which has prompted advance planning and coordinated work on mobility.

In this context, the Aquasur organization held a series of inter-institutional coordination meetings, attended by representatives from Central Parking, AIMIV, the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Transport and Telecommunications, traffic authorities, the Chilean police force (Carabineros de Chile) through the Llanquihue Provincial Police Station, the road concessionaire, and the Ministry of Public Works, among other relevant actors.

The manager of FISA’s Logistics and Defense unit, Rodrigo Bastidas, highlighted the importance of this joint effort. “We know that this version of Aquasur will have a larger turnout, which is why we began a process of meetings and coordination with the various stakeholders involved well in advance. The goal is to ensure that mobility is not a barrier, but rather part of a positive experience for those participating in the fair.”

The Mobility Plan is part of an awareness campaign that encourages exhibitors and visitors to prioritize the use of shuttle buses, carpooling, and organizing rides with coworkers. This initiative aims to contribute to more orderly, safe, and efficient traffic flow during the days of the event.

The plan includes the implementation of intercity shuttle buses to the exhibition center, running every 15 minutes at specific times, as well as van-type minibus services and the support of transportation apps. Minibuses will also be available with direct connections to El Tepual Airport, with schedules coordinated with major flights, facilitating the movement of exhibitors and visitors arriving by air.

In addition, a satellite parking lot will be set up, from which minibus services will operate to Aquasur in the morning, as well as return trips from the fairgrounds at closing time, reinforcing the invitation to plan transportation and opt for shared mobility alternatives.

With this Mobility Plan, Aquasur 2026 seeks not only to anticipate the logistical challenges of a large-scale event, but also to establish a culture of responsible mobility, integrating the various public and private institutions and strengthening the visitor experience as a central element of the fair.
