Dr. Tomás Pérez-Acle, PhD, is a researcher in Computational Biology, a field focused on the integrated application of biology, mathematics, physics, and chemistry to develop computational models aimed at understanding complex biological phenomena. Throughout his academic and scientific career, he has published nearly 70 articles in Q1-indexed journals and three book chapters, and has filed patent applications related to technologies such as computer-aided drug design, nanotechnology, electronics, and robotics. He has also supervised numerous graduate and undergraduate students, contributing to the development of advanced scientific talent. He serves as Associate Editor for international scientific journals including PeerJ, PeerJ Computer Science, and Frontiers in Genetics, and regularly acts as a reviewer for high-impact journals such as PLOS ONE, PLOS Computational Biology, and Nature Communications. Dr. Pérez-Acle has led multiple research projects funded by both national and international agencies, including ANID, FONDEF, and CORFO in Chile, as well as the European Commission, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the U.S. Air Force and Army research offices. He has also held senior leadership positions in major research institutions, including Director of the UC Bioinformatics Center and Executive Director of the National Laboratory for High Performance Computing (NLHPC) at the Center for Mathematical Modeling of the University of Chile. He currently serves as Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Vice-Rector for Research and Doctoral Studies at Universidad San Sebastián.

Ignacio Fernández Ruiz is the Director General of ProChile, with over 25 years of experience in the public sector and international economic relations. He holds a Law degree from the University of Chile and a Master’s in International Economic Policy from the University of Sheffield. He has held several positions within the Undersecretariat for International Economic Relations and ProChile, both in Chile and abroad.
Joachim has been General Manager of Cermaq Chile since June 2024, after previously serving as Commercial and Supply Chain Manager within the company. He brings over 30 years of experience in the Chilean aquaculture industry, with a strong track record at leading companies such as Mowi and AquaChile, and having also served as General Manager of Friosur. He holds a degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MSc in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management from the University of Stirling, Scotland.
