Liane is a Veterinarian and PhD in Aquaculture, Vice President of the Association of Veterinary Specialists in Aquaculture (MEVEA), and a researcher at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universidad San Sebastián. She has a strong professional background in genetics, selective breeding, and genomics of aquatic organisms, with a focus on species of productive relevance. Her research focuses on genetic resistance and tolerance to diseases in fish, particularly salmonids, integrating quantitative genetics and genomic analysis approaches. Throughout her career, she has participated in applied research projects aimed at strengthening fish health, productivity, and the sustainability of aquaculture systems, contributing to a deeper understanding of the biological processes underlying genetic variation and its impact on both production and conservation systems. Through a perspective that integrates science, industry, and professional association leadership, her work contributes to the development of a more robust aquaculture sector grounded in scientific evidence and the strengthening of specialized technical capacities.
