Don't miss the opportunity to participate in the largest aquaculture event in the Southern Hemisphere!
The world’s leading decision-makers in the aquaculture industry will meet in Norway to discuss the main challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
From August 18 to 21, 2025, representatives from countries, companies, academia, and other stakeholders in the global aquaculture industry will gather in Trondheim, Norway, to attend Aqua Nor, the conference organized by the Nor-Fishing Foundation that has brought together industry leaders since 1979.
The opening day will feature a welcome address by Christine Spiten, engineer and co-founder of Blueye Robotics, recognised by Forbes magazine as one of the ‘30 most important female tech founders under 30’. Spiten will also host the day, which will include a presentation by Dr. Alejandro Buschmann, professor at the i-mar Research Centre at the University of Los Lagos, on the production and industrial use of macroalgae in Chile.
Carola Fuentes and Rodrigo Lobo, general manager and manager of institutional relations and business development at FISA and GL events, respectively, will be present at the event to generate and consolidate ties with industry players with a view to developing Aquasur between 24 and 26 March 2026 at Puerto Montt, Chile.
In this regard, Lobo pointed out that ‘our presence at Aqua Nor is in line with the strategic objectives of FISA and GL events to position Chile on the world aquaculture stage as the benchmark for the sector in the southern hemisphere. We want companies to know that the industry is thriving in our country, and thereby encourage them to invest in us.’
Fuentes added: “We want to take the best of Aqua Nor’s work in organising this conference and apply it to our exhibitions, not just AquaSur. At FISA, we are constantly learning, and attending events like this is a tremendous opportunity to see what is being done well in other parts of the world, take those elements and then replicate them in our work in Chile, in order to offer visitors to FISA fairs world-class experiences.”
The conference itself consists of three parts, each focused on generating discussions on crucial issues for global aquaculture: the global outlook for the industry; technology and innovation; and factors limiting the sector’s growth. Check out the programme at this link.
