The Spanish company, through its Chilean subsidiary Vinicas, will present Vitifeed™ 80, a standardized grape extract from the wine industry, aligned with the circular economy and aimed at supporting salmon production performance.

Alvinesa, a Spanish company specializing in the development of high value-added natural ingredients, will participate in Aquasur 2026 to present its proposal for aquaculture nutrition, with a special focus on salmon farming. The company will be present at the fair through its subsidiary in Chile, Vinicas, reinforcing its technical and operational proximity to the local salmon sector.

The focus of its participation will be Vitifeed™ 80, a functional ingredient based on grape polyphenols whose main differentiator is its upcycled origin, as it valorizes co-products from the wine industry under a circular economy approach, together with a standardized composition that allows for reproducible application at an industrial level.

Vitifeed™ 80 is a dry extract obtained from grape seeds and skins through a physical water extraction process. Its standardization, with a minimum content of 80% total polyphenols and 60% proanthocyanidins, in addition to its high antioxidant capacity, facilitates its integration into salmonid feed formulations and its evaluation using production indicators.

Alvinesa’s proposal is based on scientific evidence available in salmonid models, which links the use of grape polyphenol-rich extracts with improvements in growth parameters, antioxidant support, and positive intestinal signals. From a production perspective, these effects are interpreted as supporting efficiency and consistency of performance, with an impact on KPIs such as feed conversion ratio (FCR), specific growth rate (SGR), and batch uniformity.

The literature also reports significant effects on the oxidative stability of the product after harvest, which can help reduce losses and risks of quality degradation during storage and marketing, thereby enhancing the final economic value of the salmon.

During the fair, Alvinesa will reinforce its scientific positioning with the participation of Diego Simón, the company’s Chief Scientific Officer, who will give a presentation entitled “Scientific Evidence 2025: Grape Polyphenols and Salmon Performance,” focusing on the scientific basis and its translation into key production indicators.

With their presence at Aquasur 2026, Alvinesa and Vinicas consolidate their commitment to natural, sustainable, and science-based solutions for more efficient and robust salmon farming.
