Companies from around the world, expert speakers at panels and seminars, and recognition of local innovation will be part of the thirteenth edition of the fair.

More than 20,000 square meters of exhibition space, the participation of more than 550 exhibiting companies, and an International Congress that will bring together more than 40 speakers to address the main challenges facing the aquaculture industry in Chile and around the world will shape Aquasur 2026, which will take place between March 24 and 26 in the Los Lagos Region.

With 30 days to go before its opening, the venue that will host this new edition is in the final stages of preparation. The installation of essential services—such as electricity, drinking water, and digital connectivity—is part of the process of implementing a large-scale infrastructure that is being built from scratch at kilometer 1,009 of Route 5 South.

The objective that FISA-GL events, organizers of Aquasur, set for this edition was clear: to consolidate the fair as the largest aquaculture industry event in the southern hemisphere, while positioning the Los Lagos Region as a hub for national development, highlighting the importance of this economic activity for the country’s growth.

Mrs Carola Fuentes, general manager of FISA, said that “expectations for this edition are higher than ever. We expect more than 25,000 visitors, who will find cutting-edge technology and innovation in aquaculture at this fair. The work of all areas of FISA has been fundamental to executing this project, and we are proud to see it come to fruition.”

Given the high turnout expected, the Aquasur organizers have also designed an ambitious mobility plan that includes parking available at the venue and in Puerto Montt, buses and shuttle services, and an agreement with transportation apps to ensure the smooth transport of visitors to and from the fair.

The partnerships we have established with the authorities also reflect the multisectoral nature of this industry. We have the institutional support of the Los Lagos Regional Government, through the honorary presidency of its head, Alejandro Santana, as well as the municipalities of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas, the Regional Ministerial Secretariat for Transport and Telecommunications, Carabineros (Chilean National Police) and local traffic authorities,” Mrs Fuentes added.

Chilean aquaculture has reached a point of maturity that allows us to say with certainty that Aquasur is a key exhibition for boosting the national economy. We will bring together companies from 34 countries—including Denmark and Norway, major global salmon producers—and the International Congress will feature speakers whose knowledge of aquaculture is vital to the sustainable advancement of this activity,” said Rodrigo Bastidas, manager of the fair.

“Happy Salmon” and “Despega tu Emprendimiento” Awards

In addition to the exhibition and conference, Aquasur is also a showcase for local innovations in the aquaculture industry: Happy Salmon, organized by its media partner Salmonexpert; and Despega tu Emprendimiento (Launch Your Venture), co-organized by FISA, AquaGroup, and InfoSalmón.

Happy Salmon seeks to highlight technologies, processes, or projects that are aligned with the current challenges facing the industry, with a long-term vision. The awards ceremony will take place on the first day of Aquasur 2026, where an award will be presented to the selected initiative, which will also be promoted on the various Salmonexpert platforms in 2026.

Meanwhile, Despega tu Emprendimiento will provide space in the SME Zone of the exhibition to 26 start-ups that were chosen from among 50 participants, so that they can present their technological solutions and services to the industry’s leading global decision-makers.
