AQUA SUR: The most important aquaculture fair in the southern hemisphere AQUA SUR is held in March every other year in the city of Puerto Montt, Region of Los Lagos, where most of the aquaculture companies that have led Chile to become the second salmon producer in the world after Norway, are installed. Distributed in approximately 300 stands, suppliers of machinery, equipment and solutions for the aquaculture industry show the technological developments that have taken place since the previous version. Because of aquaculture’s rapid growth over the past few years, this event offers participants the chance to detect and seize business opportunities as most businessmen, investors, authorities, financial entities, professionals and technicians who recommend or have anything to do with decisions about new purchases attend the fair. The participation of approximately 900 companies from over 40 countries reflects the interest in doing business in Chile.
